2013-06-26

Organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, the 2013 Olympic Day Run was held on June 23, at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. The Hong Kong NOC was honoured to have Mr Timothy Fok, NOC President, IOC member and OCA Vice President, and Mrs Betty Fung, Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, officiate at the opening ceremony.

A full capacity entry of 5,000 runners included 26 corporate teams. Hong Kong’s National Sports Associations and top athletes also formed teams, running for fun in the 5.6 km route to set an example to the public in leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Hong Kong NOC has been organising the Olympic Day Run since 1987 to celebrate the formation of the IOC and to promote “Sport for All” in the community.
