Macau Sport Development Board acknowledges gap between availability of indoor sports facilities and demand

2013-05-30

Officials from the Sport Development Board (ID), the Health Bureau (SS) and the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) conducted a fifteen-minute exercise session along with pupils at Senado Square. The initiative was included as part of “World Challenge Day” promoted by the “Association for International Sport for All.”

Present at the event, José Tavares, Vice-President of ID, acknowledged some residents’ concerns over the lack of sporting facilities. He stressed the ID’s expectation to make up the shortage of indoor sporting venues through other facilities of the Public Sports Facilities Network.

After the promotional event, Tavares stated that promoting exercise to the public is not about one single event, but rather sustained work over a longer period. “
