The Second Separate Event of Infinitus 2010 World Walking Day (China) Held in Shenyang


The "Infinitus 2010 World Walking Day (Liaoning - Shenyang)", co-organized by Liaoning Municipal Bureau of Sport and Liaoning government, was launched in Shenyang Olympic Sports Center on 6 June 2010.

Mr. Wuqi, Vice President of All-China Sports Federation (ACSF), Party Member of General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), Mr. Liu Guoyong, Deputy Director of GASC, Mr. Zengwei, Standing Member of Liaoning Provincial Committee, Municipal Committee Secretary of Shenyan, Mr. Teng Weiping, Deputy Governor of Liaoning, Mr. Chen Haibo, Mayor of Shenyan, Mr. Sun Yongyan, head of Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Sport, Mr. Harry Yeung, Senior Vice President of LKK Health Products Group (LKKHPG for short), Olympic golden medal winners Ms. Zhang Yuehong, Ms. Sun Fuming and Ms. Ding Meiyuan also attended the event. Ms. Zhang Yuehong, the women’s volleyball champion, took the lead to promote the theme, "Enjoy Walking, Enjoy Fitness" with over 20,000 participants.

The walking started after the guests firing a starting shot. Mr. Chen Haibo, Mayor of Shenyan and Mr. Harry Yeung, Senior Vice President of LKKHPG took the lead and finished all the 8 kilometers. The participants were vigorous despite of the burning sun and the spectacular walking troop had attracted many citizens to join in.

Many participants took off shoes and enjoyed bare-foot walking on a cobbled walking path. Mr. Guo Hongsheng, who walked all the way while kicking shuttlecock, is another spotlight of the walking. Over 10 local media came and covered the event.

The walking event in Shenyan, which is proved to be a success, was supported by the local government and impressed the local citizens a lot.
