Word Walking Day successfully finished this year's journey in Kunming
The last station of 2011 Infinitus World Walking Day was held in Chenggong Luolong Garden, Kunming, Yunnan Province on Nov 5th. More than 10,000 citizens followed by Asia Game's swimming champion Xie Zhi began the 5 kilometres long journey from the square in front of the Luolong Garden.
On the launching ceremony, the officials from Yunnan Province, Kunming City, General Administration of Sport, Sports Bureau of Yunnan province and Infinitus Company coloured the landmark of Kunming station on the 'Civil Walking for Fitness Initiative' scroll painting, which finished up the relay in the 12 cities.
Hundreds of participants from Hui、Yi、Bai、Miao and other ten ethnic minorities constituted the leading walking phalanx. They wore gorgeous national costume and raised the 'Civil Walking for Fitness Initiative' boards. The Organising Committee set up 12 cities’ landmark photo studios inviting the participants to experience the charm of each station during walking.
2011 Infinitus World Walking Day was launched in Qingdao in Apr, and then successfully held in Xi'an, Guangzhou, Liaoning, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Hohhot, Hubei, Changchun, Shijiazhuang, Chengdu and Kunming. More than 100,000 citizens engaged in this event. In order to promote this easy and convenient exercising style around China, the Organising Committee will expand the coverage of the event. More than 200,000 participants are expected.
