ASFAA TRAINING CENTRE OPENING CEREMONY

Over the years, Macau Sport Development Board, The Association of International Sport for All (TAFISA) and Asiania Sport For All Association (ASFAA) have worked closely to promote mass sports, improving the awareness and interest of Macau residents to participate in physical activities. Last year, Macau received a confirmation from ASFAA to set up in Macau the "ASFAA Training Centre", providing the experts and scholars from around the world a fixed training base where they can exchange experiences, to better expand the Sport for All programs.The opening ceremony of "ASFAA Training Center" was held yesterday (1 November), at 14:45, at Sports Training Centre located in Taipa, presided by the representative of the Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture, Ms. Cecilia ZHANG Su-mei, the President of ASFAA, Mr. Feng Jianzhong, the President of TAFISA, Dr. Kang-Too LEE and the President of Macau Sport Development Board, Mr. Vong Iao Lek. With the opening of the training center an important platform was created to provide training to personnel working in the area of Sport for All, to exchange knowledge and experiences, enabling the development of sports for all in the Asia Pacific.
Simultaneously, the first training course was organized and during this two day course (November 1 to 2) experts and scholars were invited to provide the local and overseas participants with the latest news of Sports for All development and dynamics.
Yesterday evening, the Government hosted a welcome dinner for the members of ASFAA, TAFISA, the speakers and participants of the training course, during which souvenirs were exchanged; TAFISA also presented MSDB with the "Innovation Award" to recognize the efforts and acknowledge the results achieved by the Board in Sports for All development and promotion.
During this period (1 to 2 November) the ASFAA Board Meeting and TAFISA Board Meeting were successfully held, marking the support that the two Associations extend to Macau and this region.
